OAKMONT is a quiet, smaller community of about 70 homes located 4 miles NE of downtown Anderson in the county.  A single entranceway leads back to its circular main drive that features most of the homes.  Lots average .75 acres in size and many include mature trees and shrubs thus adding a finished and natural look to the community.  Homes are custom built thus providing a nice variety of designs.  Most homes are finished in brick or stucco and are surrounded by nice landscaping.

The location of Oakmont makes this community very appealing.  It is only a short distance off of the high growth corridor, Greenville Hwy (SC Hwy 81), and is located central to the three public schools that service its educational needs of K through 12.  An Ingles grocery store is within a mile, and Hwy 81 continues to develop restraurants, neighborhood shopping centers, and service shops.

The community includes no formal amenities, other than some common ground.
