WESTCHESTER is a medium-sized traditional community started in the mid 1990’s.  It offers quality homes close to Easley, and with an easy commute into downtown Greenville.  Westchester is located on the southeast edge of Easley only a mile from the Anderson/Pickens County line.  This is an attractive option if you are searching for a home in the greater Greenville real estate market.

Westchester is virtually built out, and is surrounded by other attractive subdivisions.  Homes in Westchester include a mixture of designs with no single prevailing style.  Victorian/Queen Ann, Colonial, and New American influences may be seen among this traditional neighborhood.  A large number of the homes in Westchester feature brick veneer exteriors, while others incorporate a combination of brick, stucco, wood/vinyl siding, and/or stone. The mixtures of designs coupled with the variety of colors and patterns in the homes, harmonize to make the Westchester neighborhood a very attractive community.

The layout of Westchester favors winding roads and side courts.  Homes are attractively landscaped and while many lots include newer plantings, some mature trees have been retained adding a mature look to the community.  A single entrance into Westchester eliminates drive through traffic thus giving an added degree of privacy and security.

As you are driving into Westchester, you will pass the Home Owners Association property to the immediate right.  The HOA parcel is 1.9 acres in size and includes all of the Westchester’s amenities - a nice sized Clubhouse with a wrap around porch, a tennis court (with night lights), a fenced basketball court and a swimming pool/pool house (panoramic view above).  These add to the family experience of living in Westchester.

Pickens County Schools (K-12) that services Westchester are all within a 5 mile radius.  And construction has begun on a new Easley High School.  The new 250000+ sq. ft. building will be on a 162 acre site on SC Hwy 8.  The site address is 1249 Pelzer Highway.  Targeted completion for the new high school is 2012.  The new HS will be about 3 miles from Westchester.

The Westchester subdivision enjoys easy access onto US Hwy 123, which runs through Easley.  Hwy 123 is a commercial corridor that includes a wide variety of restaurants, retail stores, and services. Hwy 123 can be used for commutes into downtown Greenville which is only 10 miles away.  I-85 is about 5 miles to the southeast. It can be access from Westchester by using SC Hwy 153 which is about 1.5 miles away.  Hwy 153 is also rapidly developing as a retail and commercial corridor thus expanding the shopping conveniences around Westchester.

Westchester’s close proximity to Greenville allows residents to enjoy a wide range of activities including the Greenville Drive’s baseball games (farm team for Boston), to the cultural activities offered at the Peace Center or Bi-Low Center, or some quiet dining is some of downtown Greenville’s assortment of fine restaurants.  If you prefer nature activities, you will find that the SC Mountains, beautiful lakes Keowee and Hartwell, and the educational, social, and sporting activities of Clemson University are all within a 20 mile radius of Westchester. Likewise, you can drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway which is about 40 miles to the north.

Westchester is a quiet, inviting community that offers nice homes and a convenient location with excellent access to many of Upstate attractions that make this region of SC a great place to live.
